It didn't take me long to fall in love with the dramatic skies in Big Sky country! Montana skies can change more often and more quickly than any other place I've visited. It almost became routine that in the late afternoon as golden hour was about to begin, somewhere in the distance a dark, foreboding sky would inevitably appear on the horizon. It did make for some interesting photography, so I tried to take advantage of my opportunities during the time I was in Montana. In this image, my husband and I were at Ted Turner's Flying D Ranch, located just outside of Bozeman. Someone had told us that it was a great place to take pictures, and because the road through the ranch is a public road, it's very accessible. The ranch easily became one of my favorite spots to hang out and wait for the sky to put on it's show.
