Description
Located along the rocky coast of Maine on the St. George Peninsula, in the small fishing village of Port Clyde, Marshall Point Lighthouse is a fabulous place to enjoy a summer sunset. On this night in mid July, the sky changed almost from moment to moment as the sun started sinking in the sky. It seemed as if each change was more beautiful than the last one. I loved the colors and clouds out over the ocean as we sat a a picnic table on the grounds and enjoyed a picnic dinner whiel watching the show. This lighthouse was made famous in the movie "Forest Gump" when it was shown in the running sequence. Forest ran the length of the pier to the lighthouse and turned around to return home. This view was taken from the front porch of the keeper's house, which has been fully restored and serves as a museum.
