Description
The nyala is a spiral horned antelope that is native to South Africa, living in the dense woodlands and thickets of African bush country. Males and females look entirely different, with the male being strikingly beautiful with distinct markings and stripes while the female looks very much like a common antelope and is a completely different color than the male. We saw this beauty in Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park on our first game drive, and it was an exciting moment when he emerged suddenly from the dense bush next to the road as we were going by.
