Description
The Pryor Mountains span Wyoming's border with neighboring Montana. Although the landscape could be considered desolate and gives you that "in the middle of nowhere" feeling, it is beautiful on a gorgeous mid summer evening. My husband and I were returning from the top of Pryor Mountain where we had photographed wild mustangs all day. We were very tired, having set out from our hotel long before sunrise. But, if you're a photographer wanting to capture the day, you can't ever get in too big of a hurry. At the foot of the mountain, we happened upon this old Minneapolis Moline tractor that had been left there among the sage. No homes, no farms, no people anywhere nearby...a bit mysterious, making it all the more compelling. We stopped and took several shots before heading back to the highway. Even though I loved the original color version of this image, I also think the conversion to black and white works well with the varied textures and tones in the landscape and sky.
