Description
I spotted this lovely dead tree along the shore of a Tennessee lake. I found it a compelling photography subject because of its enormous height and lines. In order to get the photo of the tree from base to top, I had to take two photos, one of the bottom half and one of the top half, and then stich them together in post processing. I loved the result and think it makes a wonderfully artistic vertical image. Although I really liked the original, color version, once I converted it black and white, this one is my favorite. There's an unmistakable aura of mystery attached to it!

In addition to the banner, I am adding this more permanent recognition of its FEATURE on the homepage of A TREE OR TREES IN BLACK AND WHITE. I try mightily to feature only images that would be at home in a juried competition. No doubt that this image fits that bill. CONGRATULATIONS! And consider adding your image to DISCUSSIONS "Please post your featured photograph here" for greater, long-lasting visibility.
