Description
It was a glorious afternoon when we drove through the scenic Lamar Valley in Yellowstone National Park. It had already been a great day, and my husband and I had been on the road since early that morning having driven the Bear Tooth Highway from Red Lodge, over the mountain pass, and on into Yellowstone. A little travel weary, our spirits perked up immediately as the golden light of late day began to cover the valley. We stopped for a few minutes and walked down to the river on a wildflower strewn path with the smell of sage adding to the pleasantness of the experience. After strolling along in nature, we found ourselves refreshed and ready to resume our respective positions in the car for the long drive through the park and back to the hotel. I took this photograph as we walked the path to the river.
