Description

While standing by the road watching wildlife and listening to the bugles of several bull elk in Yellowstone National Park, first light fell on Electric Peak, the highest point in the park at about 10,000 feet in elevation. On this cold, frosty, 18 degree morning, this majestic sight was just one of many rewards for being out and about before daylight. I loved the purple hues and rapidly changing light as the first rays of the sun fell on the eastern face of this chiseled rock mountain.
