Description
Except for birds, foxes are the most common wildlife seen on Prince Edward Island, Canada. The red fox, pictured here, sits outside her den while the little one stays a few feet away where he feels safe. It was so funny to see the ears pop up just as I was taking a picture of the beautiful mama fox! I had no idea that she had babies close by until the mysterious ears came quickly up and right back down.

I heard they had foxes there but we never saw one while we were there although we probably didn't travel to the more rural areas, I guess. This is such a captivating photo of this gorgeous creature among the wildflowers. It took me awhile to see the other set of ears! A big fave. Can't wait to go back to PEI!

I didn't know they were that common on PEI - I've just bought a rural house less than an hour from the bridge, so might have to do a fox hunt in PEI soon!
