Description
One of the first things that comes to mind as tourists visit the Great Smoky Mountains National Park is whether or not they'll see bears while there. Because I Iive only an hour away from this national treasure, I'm fortunate to be there frequently during all seasons enjoying the views, wildlife, flowers, and capturing it all with my camera. As a result I see lots of bears, and I really do love them all. This yearling that I call Ebony was one of the first ones I spotted in early spring of 2018 as they came out of their winter homes and began moving about the Cove. Oftentimes, when you see them that time of year, the bears are very lean and not as healthy looking as they are at other times. I was struck by how great this yearling looked as she noshed on weeds and grasses next to her mama along Hyatt Lane. Her color was rich, eyes nice and clear, and weight ideal...what a pretty gal!
