It was my first day on my first trip to New York City, and I was enthralled with the thrill of finally having an opportunity to see this place that I had always only seen in pictures. As a photographer, I naturally wanted to get shots of all of the iconic images of the city, but I also determined that I would capture little things along the way that didn't necessarily fall into the well known category. I found myself captivated by all of the different types of architecture in the different parts of the city, particularly details. This snippet of ornate details on an office building in the Chelsea area made a great background for the lamp posts. I digitally stylized my original photo to achieve a different look with an extra pop of color.
