Description
The Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge, also known as the Ravenel Bridge and the Cooper River Bridge, is a cable-stayed bridge over the Cooper River in South Carolina, connecting downtown Charleston to Mount Pleasant. The bridge has a main span of 1,546 and is the third longest among cable-stayed bridges in the Western Hemisphere. It was built using the design-build method and was designed by Parsons Brinckerhoff. The bridge is a beautiful landmark of the area and is fun to photograph any time of day or night. Until my most recent trip to Charleston, I had never been able to figure how exactly where I needed to go to get this particular perspective from underneath the bridge. After doing a little research, though, I found the spot! I loved all of the images taken at this location, but think I prefer this vertical over the others.
