Description
Lonely, desolate, isolated...but beautiful! I was unprepared for the moody atmosphere that I would discover on my first visit to a "boneyard beach" for sunrise. The tide was slowly coming in, and the skies were overcast and dramatic. It was on and off raining and misty and dreary and yet wonderful. A small burst of light on the distant horizon let us know that the sun was still out there somewhere, casting a lovely light upon the sand and creating some great shadows. I am sure this will not be my only visit to the beach at Botany Bay Plantation at sunrise. It was just too amazing to not do it again!

In addition to the banner, I am adding this more permanent recognition of its FEATURE on the homepage of A TREE OR TREES IN BLACK AND WHITE. I try mightily to feature only images that would be at home in a juried competition. No doubt that this image fits that bill. CONGRATULATIONS! And consider adding your image to DISCUSSIONS "Please post your featured photograph here" for greater, long-lasting visibility.
