Description
Chateau Amboise is located on the Loire River in the city of Amboise about an hour from Paris. The chateau dates back to the 11th century and was originally a mighty medieval fortress which eventually became a royal residence. While the chateau itself is very interesting, my favorite part was the small chapel built in front of the chateau, overlooking the main street of Amboise. It is an amazingly beautiful chapel, inside and out, and has the distinction of being the burial place of Leonardo Da Vinci who personally requested to be buried there.
