It was our first day in Yellowstone National Park, and we were just making a quick trip in for a short visit to check things out and make more definite plans for our visit the next day. That all changed, however, as we spotted this big grizzly just as we were ready to leave the park. He was fairly close to the road and with our wildlife lenses, my husband and I were in a perfect position to take some photographs as we stayed behind our open car doors for a quick hop in the car if it became necessary. Needless to say, we were excited and thought that surely this was a sign of things to come and that we'd have dozens of opportunities during our ten day stay to capture more bears with our cameras. As it turned out, this was the only bear we saw for our entire trip, so we were very glad and thankful for that first evening's encounter.
Simply put, I LOVE TO TAKE PICTURES. I found this love later in life than many do, after raising my family and enjoying a career in education, both as a teacher and school administrator. Currently, much of my time revolves around travel and photography, and when I'm not traveling and taking pictures, I'm thinking about traveling and taking pictures! The Tennessee valley is my home, so I am surrounded by some of the most scenic areas of the United States with the added bonus of plentiful wildlife and birds...literally paradise for a photographer!
