As everything magically turns a verdant green, Cades Cove comes alive after winter and is a welcomed sight by visitors to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Because my home in Tennessee if very close to the park, I'm able to enjoy every season in Cades Cove, but spring is hard to beat. In addition to the beautiful scenery, little cubbies come out of their dens and provide plenty of excitement during the month of April. On the day this image was taken, I had actually gone to the park on a mission to photograph new cubs, but the landscapes were so perfectly springtime that I had to make several stops to take many more things than bears.
Simply put, I LOVE TO TAKE PICTURES. I found this love later in life than many do, after raising my family and enjoying a career in education, both as a teacher and school administrator. Currently, much of my time revolves around travel and photography, and when I'm not traveling and taking pictures, I'm thinking about traveling and taking pictures! The Tennessee valley is my home, so I am surrounded by some of the most scenic areas of the United States with the added bonus of plentiful wildlife and birds...literally paradise for a photographer!
