Artist's Description
One recent morning I decided to launch out and find something new within a few miles of home that I had never seen before. So I started wandering down obscure gravel roads within a few miles of where I live, and it didn't take long before I came upon this little abandoned farmstead on a hillside overlooking a pond. Several buildings were clustered together, but my favorite was this nicely weathered barn with the blooming spring flowers around the outside. This spot was just the first stop of many, and, as I returned home a few hours later, I determined that I needed to do this little exercise much more often as there's always something undiscovered nearby just waiting to be photographed. My original image has been digitally enhanced to achieve a painterly presentation.

Simply put, I LOVE TO TAKE PICTURES. I found this love later in life than many do, after raising my family and enjoying a career in education, both as a teacher and school administrator. Currently, much of my time revolves around travel and photography, and when I'm not traveling and taking pictures, I'm thinking about traveling and taking pictures! The Tennessee valley is my home, so I am surrounded by some of the most scenic areas of the United States with the added bonus of plentiful wildlife and birds...literally paradise for a photographer!
