Even on a cold winter day, Hyatt Lane in Cades Cove, Great Smoky Mountains National Park is a great place to hang out. More often than not, you can observe hawks and harriers hunting the fields, and there's always a chance that a coyote or bear may make an appearance. It's a perfect place to take a brisk walk in the bright sunshine or sit in your car with a thermos of coffee, soaking in the sun as it beams through the windows. There are usually several photographers hanging around hoping for that perfect shot and they're always ready to chat for a while and educate visitors about the Cove.
Simply put, I LOVE TO TAKE PICTURES. I found this love later in life than many do, after raising my family and enjoying a career in education, both as a teacher and school administrator. Currently, much of my time revolves around travel and photography, and when I'm not traveling and taking pictures, I'm thinking about traveling and taking pictures! The Tennessee valley is my home, so I am surrounded by some of the most scenic areas of the United States with the added bonus of plentiful wildlife and birds...literally paradise for a photographer!
