Artist's Description
Day is coming to an end along the Grand Canal in Venice, and everything glows in the perfect light of the golden hour. When I took this image, my husband and I had just arrived in this amazing city in Italy, and after checking into our hotel, we had walked just out the front door and over to the edge of the canal to look around a bit and take it all in. We had literally been transported to another world! For as long as I could remember, I had heard about the canal city, but unless you actually visit, it's very hard to imagine Venice. Comprised of over 100 islands connected by bridges and canals, amazing doesn't even begin to describe the place. Water taxis, gondolas, street vendors, ancient historical sites... so much to see and do! We were excited at this moment to discover all of the things Venice had to offer, but our time there passed in a flurry and we find ourselves now wanting to return some day to see more of this wonderful area.

Simply put, I LOVE TO TAKE PICTURES. I found this love later in life than many do, after raising my family and enjoying a career in education, both as a teacher and school administrator. Currently, much of my time revolves around travel and photography, and when I'm not traveling and taking pictures, I'm thinking about traveling and taking pictures! The Tennessee valley is my home, so I am surrounded by some of the most scenic areas of the United States with the added bonus of plentiful wildlife and birds...literally paradise for a photographer!
