Elephants are the stars of Chobe National Park in Botswana! Although we were only there for two days, we saw so many both on our game drive safaris and our cruise on the Chobe River. I had no idea that these magnificant animals are so family oriented and travel in family groups. It was such a pleasure to see all ages and sizes together on several occasions. In this image, a large group was scattered along the shore of the river enjoying an afternoon drink before they crossed the water over to an island in the middle of the river. I zeroed in on this little family out of the masses because I liked the way the two little ones were protectively located in the middle of the two adults.
Simply put, I LOVE TO TAKE PICTURES. I found this love later in life than many do, after raising my family and enjoying a career in education, both as a teacher and school administrator. Currently, much of my time revolves around travel and photography, and when I'm not traveling and taking pictures, I'm thinking about traveling and taking pictures! The Tennessee valley is my home, so I am surrounded by some of the most scenic areas of the United States with the added bonus of plentiful wildlife and birds...literally paradise for a photographer!
