Description
Icy Point Strait was just one of several ports that we visited on an Alaskan cruise of the inside passage. The small town of Hoonah was quaint and lovely with an obvious bent on both tourism and fishing. Colorful, nautical scenes are an integral part of life here in this remote and rustic spot. It was relaxing and interesting to stroll along the shore and investigate a life far away and very different from our own. I loved the ambiance of this little place with it's friendly people who all seemed to be so glad we were there. This image is part of the old fish processing plant that had been converted to an interesting market with a variety of local merchandise. My husband and I spontaneously decided to try a zip line for the first time, and it was advertised as the longest in the world. That little adventure certainly made Hoonah, Alaska a place that I'll not soon forget!
