Description
Stopped at a glass factory while touring Eswatini, formerly known as Swaziland, I was more interested in the flowers and birds around the well manicured grounds than in touring the glass factory. Peafowl and song birds were showing off and sounding off amid the abundant blooming flowers and bushes in the area, so my husband and I opted out of the tour in favor of getting some good photos in the great light of another beautiful Africa morning. This handsome peacock was parading around as if in charge. Research tells me that there are only three different types of peafowl, and the ones we observed in Eswatini are the Congo variety with feathers and plumage that are predominantly brown, rather than the bright blue and green of the Indian peafowl that are commonly seen in the US.
