While visiting San Michele in Foro, a Roman Catholic basilica in Lucca, Italy, I stood in the shadows in the back of the church and observed several people in the altar area lighting candles. This young man with his backpack and cap touched my heart as he reverently stood and paused for a few moments after lighting his candle. It spoke to me that he took time out of his busy day, most likely on his way somewhere else, to stop by the church right before Easter. He lingered in a thoughtful pose before continuing on his way, making me think that he had his priorities in order.
Simply put, I LOVE TO TAKE PICTURES. I found this love later in life than many do, after raising my family and enjoying a career in education, both as a teacher and school administrator. Currently, much of my time revolves around travel and photography, and when I'm not traveling and taking pictures, I'm thinking about traveling and taking pictures! The Tennessee valley is my home, so I am surrounded by some of the most scenic areas of the United States with the added bonus of plentiful wildlife and birds...literally paradise for a photographer!
