Artist's Description
In the shadow of Chilhowee Mountain in Polk County, Tennessee sits a beautiful lake surrounded by fabulous views in every direction. My granddaughter and I recently had an adventure day together and headed for Parksville Lake to see what photo opportunities might come our way. As it turned out, there was plenty of beautiful scenery and picturesque barns for us to shoot. In the far reaches of the lake was this one section that had several bald cypress tress growing up from the water. Fortunately conditions were right for some good reflections of the clouds and trees to put together this simple composition. I like the peaceful mood that I was able to capture in this photograph. It evokes a great memory of my 12 year old Sadie and I enjoying standing here just taking it all in while listening to the sounds of various birds along the shore.

Simply put, I LOVE TO TAKE PICTURES. I found this love later in life than many do, after raising my family and enjoying a career in education, both as a teacher and school administrator. Currently, much of my time revolves around travel and photography, and when I'm not traveling and taking pictures, I'm thinking about traveling and taking pictures! The Tennessee valley is my home, so I am surrounded by some of the most scenic areas of the United States with the added bonus of plentiful wildlife and birds...literally paradise for a photographer!
