Artist's Description

M.J. O'Neill's is a bar and restaurant in central Dublin. It occupies 2 Suffolk Street and adjacent buildings, continuing round the corner into Church Lane. It is said that there has been a tavern on the site for some three hundred years. From 1875, it was owned by the Hogan Brothers, until M.J. O’Neill bought and renamed the premises in August 1927.
The corner structure is a four-story building, reminiscent of the Arts and Crafts Movement red-brick with Tudor-style projecting bay windows. There is a decorated iron clock on the Suffolk Street frontage. The building is protected and in a conservation area. I was struck by the abundant flower boxes adding a softer touch to the beautiful exterior. You just can't help but notice this historic and welcoming tavern if you're out and about in Dublin!

About Marcy Wielfaert

Marcy Wielfaert

Simply put, I LOVE TO TAKE PICTURES. I found this love later in life than many do, after raising my family and enjoying a career in education, both as a teacher and school administrator. Currently, much of my time revolves around travel and photography, and when I'm not traveling and taking pictures, I'm thinking about traveling and taking pictures! The Tennessee valley is my home, so I am surrounded by some of the most scenic areas of the United States with the added bonus of plentiful wildlife and birds...literally paradise for a photographer! My best days are spent in the mountains enjoying God's amazing creation and trying to capture all things nature with my camera. It gives me great joy to use this medium to share the intricacies of...
