While on a recent trip to France, I had the opportunity to visit a few of the many chateaus of the Loire Valley, and Chateau de Chenonceau was definitely a favorite. Known as the ladies chateau due to the fact that it has always been under the ownership of only ladies, Chenonceau was the smallest, but in many ways the grandest. I loved the fact that they hire a full time "flower tender" who keeps every room supplied with fresh flower arrangement all year long, featuring only flowers grown on the premises. This fact alone made every room so welcoming and inviting, but it also smelled so lovely! This mantle arrangement in one of the bedrooms caught my eye, and I kept hanging around long enough for others to clear out so I could get this image with no one showing up in the mirror.
Simply put, I LOVE TO TAKE PICTURES. I found this love later in life than many do, after raising my family and enjoying a career in education, both as a teacher and school administrator. Currently, much of my time revolves around travel and photography, and when I'm not traveling and taking pictures, I'm thinking about traveling and taking pictures! The Tennessee valley is my home, so I am surrounded by some of the most scenic areas of the United States with the added bonus of plentiful wildlife and birds...literally paradise for a photographer!
