Description
It had been a great day's adventure on the top of Pryor Mountain, near the Montana/Wyoming state line, where we had observed and photographed wild mustangs. Our mountain experience had been cut a little short, however, when a sudden hail stormed arrived and our guide insisted that we start down rough, rutted road to insure that there would be no chance of us being stranded on the top of the mountain overnight. Just as we finished our 2 1/2 hour drive to the arid desert-like plains at the mountain's base, we passed this rusty tractor. Our guide told us that it was a Minneapolis Moline that had been abandoned at that very spot in 1956. I loved the shot with the evening clouds gathering in the backgound and the sage plants and rocks scattered along the red clay.
