Artist's Description

Although we were only in Botswana for two days, we saw more wildlife there than on the balance of the 16 day tour. Chobe National Park was a mecca for lovers of seeing wildlife in their natural habitat. Three game drives and two river cruises yielded some amazing sightings and corresponding photos. We saw many hippopotamuses in the water, but they were also spotted a few times on land. This big guy was standing along the shore of the Chobe River munching on some grasses, but it wasn't long before he slid into the water to cool off. I love the fact that this giant animal was surrounded by little delicate water lilies!

About Marcy Wielfaert

Marcy Wielfaert

Simply put, I LOVE TO TAKE PICTURES. I found this love later in life than many do, after raising my family and enjoying a career in education, both as a teacher and school administrator. The Tennessee valley is my home, so I am surrounded by some of the most scenic areas of the United States with the added bonus of plentiful wildlife and birds...literally paradise for a photographer! My best days are spent in the mountains enjoying God's amazing creation and trying to capture all things nature with my camera. It gives me great joy to use this medium to share the intricacies of...
