Artist's Description
What is it about old, dilapidated homes and barns that compels me to stop and investigate? Still haven't really figured that out, but I simply love to take photos of these treasures of the past. This home, affectionately called an "island ellie" because of its L shaped layout, was spotted near Brackley Beach, Prince Edward Island as my husband and I were out driving some of the rural roads on an overcast September morning. We passed it by at first, but then I asked if we could backtrack a bit and get a closer look. This one was a little eerie and spooky, even in the daytime, and I dare say I wouldn't be checking it out after dark. I did love the lines and age and crooked door, though, and the missing shingles on the roof also added a nice textural element! This image has been minimally enhanced digitally.

Simply put, I LOVE TO TAKE PICTURES. I found this love later in life than many do, after raising my family and enjoying a career in education, both as a teacher and school administrator. Currently, much of my time revolves around travel and photography, and when I'm not traveling and taking pictures, I'm thinking about traveling and taking pictures!
