Description
While on a whale watch in Alaska with no whales in sight, I resorted to taking shots of the seagulls around our boat and actually ended up being happier with my bird images than those of the whales. This herring gull was coming in for a landing just off the right side of our boat where I stood scanning the water for whales. I especially like the stark contrasts of this one, the reflections and splash in the water.
