Description
The Court of the Lions is the main courtyard in the heart of the Alhambra, the Moorish citadel formed by a complex of palaces, gardens and forts in Granada, Spain. It was commissioned by the Nasrid sultan Muhammed V of the Emirate of Granada and construction started in the second period of his reign, between 1362 and 1391 AD. The site is now part of the UNESCO World Heritage system. There was so much to see while visiting the Alhambra, but this courtyard was one of my favorites spots. I loved the architecture that illustrated influences of both Moorish and Renaissance styles. My original photograph has been digitally stylized to achieve a painterly presentation.
