The African country of Eswatini, formerly known as Swaziland, is a landlocked monarchy known for its wilderness reserves and festivals showcasing the Swazi culture. It is one of the smallest countries in Africa bordering Mozambique to the northeast and stretching all the way down to South Africa. Considered to be a middle income country economically, Eswatini has with an average income of less than $10,000 per capita. While there, we stopped at an outdoor market with a vast array of art by local artisans. Some amazing work was on display with colors of every hue. These batik-style wall hangings were beautifully done in wonderful bright colors. I liked the effect of the layers and lines creating some depth amidst all of the vibrant hues when they were hung all together.
Simply put, I LOVE TO TAKE PICTURES. I found this love later in life than many do, after raising my family and enjoying a career in education, both as a teacher and school administrator. Currently, much of my time revolves around travel and photography, and when I'm not traveling and taking pictures, I'm thinking about traveling and taking pictures! The Tennessee valley is my home, so I am surrounded by some of the most scenic areas of the United States with the added bonus of plentiful wildlife and birds...literally paradise for a photographer!
