The Cape Town waterfront is a happening place any time of year, and things really liven up in the evenings. Our hotel was very close to this area, and we spent quite a bit of time enjoying all that the waterfront has to offer. Great restaurants, cafes, shops, a three story mall, entertainment...it's all here! During the day, there are also several bay cruise options that are worth a look, including a replica of the Jolly Roger pirate ship that has a crew all dressed as pirates. The large ferris wheel is fun to do any time, but is especially scenic at night with all of the lights. We were in this beautiful South African city for five days and would have been happy to have more time there!
Simply put, I LOVE TO TAKE PICTURES. I found this love later in life than many do, after raising my family and enjoying a career in education, both as a teacher and school administrator. Currently, much of my time revolves around travel and photography, and when I'm not traveling and taking pictures, I'm thinking about traveling and taking pictures! The Tennessee valley is my home, so I am surrounded by some of the most scenic areas of the United States with the added bonus of plentiful wildlife and birds...literally paradise for a photographer!
