Cades Cove Summer, Painterly Canvas Print

Cades Cove is a beautiful spot in Great Smoky Mountains National Park! Sometimes referred to as "the heart of the Smokies," this little valley is tucked in the mountains and attracts millions of visitors each year. It is well worth a visit during any season, but summer is especially lush and lovely. A bonus is abundant wildlife, and black bears are frequently seen as you drive the eleven mile loop road through the Cove. This image shows off the colors of nature on a mid July day and was taken along the Abrams trailhead road. I loved the dramatic sky and cure in the country road. My original photography has been minimally enhanced with a painterly digital application.

Simply put, I LOVE TO TAKE PICTURES. I found this love later in life than many do, after raising my family and enjoying a career in education, both as a teacher and school administrator. Currently, much of my time revolves around travel and photography, and when I'm not traveling and taking pictures, I'm thinking about traveling and taking pictures! The Tennessee valley is my home, so I am surrounded by some of the most scenic areas of the United States with the added bonus of plentiful wildlife and birds...literally paradise for a photographer!
