Along the north shore of Prince Edward Island, numerous fishing villages dot the coastal areas. Malpeque, known world wide for especially delicious oysters, is one such village. We don't make a trip to PEI without going out to Malpeque at least once, so it's become a favorite island spot for my husband and me. On the day this image was taken, it was Labour Day, so the harbor was deserted, which actually worked out well for us to just take our time and stroll around taking pictures. I digitally enhanced this photograph slightly to yield a painterly presentation.
Simply put, I LOVE TO TAKE PICTURES. I found this love later in life than many do, after raising my family and enjoying a career in education, both as a teacher and school administrator. Currently, much of my time revolves around travel and photography, and when I'm not traveling and taking pictures, I'm thinking about traveling and taking pictures! The Tennessee valley is my home, so I am surrounded by some of the most scenic areas of the United States with the added bonus of plentiful wildlife and birds...literally paradise for a photographer!
