Description
The Basilica of Montserrat is located about an hour outside of Barcelona, Spain high on Montserrat mountain. On the same site is an 11th century monastery of the Order of Saint Benedictine. This beautiful doorway caught my attention as we entered the innermost portion of the Basilica and walked the passageway leading to the shrine of the Virgin of Montserrat, also known as the Black Madonna. The light above cast some nice shadows on the wall art, and I loved the repeating arches in this small space. Properly matted and framed, this image has appeal to me as an art piece, and I'm hoping there are at least a few others who might feel the same!
