While exploring rural Montana, my husband and I were thrilled to discover this original sod roofed home just 8 miles outside of Three Forks on Montana Highway 2. We stopped to take some pictures and loved the picturesque setting and wonderful sky that developed while we were there. Later research revealed that this is officially the Parker Homestead State Park, and it contains one acre of land and the original homestead, outside toilet, hand pump and well, and some antique farm implements in the adjacent field. Funding shortages made it necessary to officially close the park last year, and it is now quite overgrown and neglected. Simply put, I LOVE TO TAKE PICTURES. I found this love later in life than many do, after raising my family and enjoying a career in education, both as a teacher and school administrator. Currently, much of my time revolves around travel and photography, and when I'm not traveling and taking pictures, I'm thinking about traveling and taking pictures! The Tennessee valley is my home, so I am surrounded by some of the most scenic areas of the United States with the added bonus of plentiful wildlife and birds...literally paradise for a photographer!
