Artist's Description

While exploring rural Montana, my husband and I were thrilled to discover this original sod roofed home just 8 miles outside of Three Forks on Montana Highway 2. We stopped to take some pictures and loved the picturesque setting and wonderful sky that developed while we were there. Later research revealed that this is officially the Parker Homestead State Park, and it contains one acre of land and the original homestead, outside toilet, hand pump and well, and some antique farm implements in the adjacent field. Funding shortages made it necessary to officially close the park last year, and it is now quite overgrown and neglected. It was such a great discovery, and we enjoyed the photo opportunities, but I'm really hoping that funds will be available once again soon to preserve and maintain this treasure of yesteryear.While exploring rural Montana, my husband and I were thrilled to discover this original sod roofed home just 8 miles outside of Three Forks on Montana Highway 2. Simply put, I LOVE TO TAKE PICTURES. I found this love later in life than many do, after raising my family and enjoying a career in education, both as a teacher and school administrator.
