My husband and I visited Rocky Mountain National Park for the first time in mid-January. Many of our friends and family wondered about the wisdom of our decision, since we're not skiers and not huge fans of cold weather. Our mission was to take some fabulous snow pictures because our home state of Tennessee doesn't give us a lot of opportunities to shoot snowy landscapes. Well, as it turned out, there wasn't very much snow in Estes Park while we were there, but the adventure was enjoyable none the less. The frequently cold, windy weather conditions did take some getting used to for this southern couple, but the amazingly fresh, mountain air was just what we needed. This image was taken in Rocky Mountain National Park very early, just after sunrise.
Simply put, I LOVE TO TAKE PICTURES. I found this love later in life than many do, after raising my family and enjoying a career in education, both as a teacher and school administrator. Currently, much of my time revolves around travel and photography, and when I'm not traveling and taking pictures, I'm thinking about traveling and taking pictures! The Tennessee valley is my home, so I am surrounded by some of the most scenic areas of the United States with the added bonus of plentiful wildlife and birds...literally paradise for a photographer!
