Description
My husband and I visited Rocky Mountain National Park for the first time in mid-January. Many of our friends and family wondered about the wisdom of our decision, since we're not skiers and not huge fans of cold weather. Our mission was to take some fabulous snow pictures because our home state of Tennessee doesn't give us a lot of opportunities to shoot snowy landscapes. Well, as it turned out, there wasn't very much snow in Estes Park while we were there, but the adventure was enjoyable none the less. The frequently cold, windy weather conditions did take some getting used to for this southern couple, but the amazingly fresh, mountain air was just what we needed. This image was taken in Rocky Mountain National Park very early, just after sunrise. I love the black and white conversion!

In addition to the banner, I am adding this more permanent recognition of its FEATURE on the homepage of A TREE OR TREES IN BLACK AND WHITE. I try mightily to feature only images that would be at home in a juried competition. No doubt that this image fits that bill. CONGRATULATIONS! And consider adding your image to DISCUSSIONS "Please post your featured photograph here" for greater, long-lasting visibility.
