A visit to Lancaster county, Pennsylvania is always a pleasure. A couple of days spent in this area where a simpler lifestyle is well lived serves to take you back in time. It makes you realize that life doesn't necessarily have to be nearly as complicated as we tend to make it. Family, faith, and hard work are woven through the traditional values espoused by the culture that is prevalent in this county. There is a peace and tranquility here that can serve as an inspiration to many of us who have crowded out the simple pleasures that life can bring and traded them for gadgets and meaningless possessions. This barn was along the road and we happened to pass by during the perfect golden light of a September evening. Some kittens were playing in front of the barn, and you could see the simple implements, tools and drying tobacco inside the open barn doors. I loved the setting!
Simply put, I LOVE TO TAKE PICTURES. I found this love later in life than many do, after raising my family and enjoying a career in education, both as a teacher and school administrator. Currently, much of my time revolves around travel and photography, and when I'm not traveling and taking pictures, I'm thinking about traveling and taking pictures! The Tennessee valley is my home, so I am surrounded by some of the most scenic areas of the United States with the added bonus of plentiful wildlife and birds...literally paradise for a photographer!
