Description
Along the southern coastal area of South Africa, the landscapes are varied and rugged. From rolling hills to rocky cliffs, to flat plains...it's all there! When this image was taken, we had just left the Cape of Good Hope, a rocky, rough, intimidating mix of natural beauty. A very short time and few miles later, the impossibly rough terrain opened up to a flat, scrubby plain with rolling, hazy hills in the distance. The general softness of this image, compared to the angular, rocky, hard landscapes taken just a few minutes earlier is striking by comparison. I love the misty look surrounding the gently undulating hills, created by the fog surrounding them, against the muted earth tones of the foreground.
