Sometimes I like to make it my goal to find things to photograph no more than five miles from my home in east Tennessee. It can be easy to overlook those things that we pass by regularly, and it only takes looking at these familiar scenes with different eyes to see unexpected beauty. That was my mission when I discovered this lovely rural farm scene very close to home. I loved the unusual white barn (most of ours are red), and its location at the top of a gently sloping hill added to the welcoming feel of the image. My original photograph has been slightly digitally enhanced to achieve a painterly presentation.
