As the base of Pryor Mountain on the Montana/Wyoming state line, you feel truly like you are in the middle of nowhere. The endless, gravel road stretches out before you with no signs of human habitation for miles around. Rugged, desolate, isolated can all be used to describe the landscape. But it is also rich in color, scenic, and hauntingly beautiful. The closest town is Lovell, Wyoming, and that's where we were headed when this image was taken. We had been to the top of a mountain to observe a band of wild mustangs, and had experienced a different world there. As the sun set in the distance, my husband and I reveled in the ending of an absolutely wonderful day spent in a place so uniquely alluring and unlike anything we'd ever experienced before.
