Description
The Goldenes Dachl or Golden Balcony of Innsbruck is the city's most famous symbol and was completed in 1500 to commemorate the wedding of Emporer Maximilian to Bianca Maria Sforza. The emporer and his wife used the balcony to observe festivals, tournaments, and other events that took place in the square below. Decorated with relief sculptures, murals and frescoes, the building that houses the balcony is also a must-see while in Innsbruck. Full of art and interesting history!
