While on a recent trip to Montana, we decided to stay in Bozeman where we could access not only Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons, but also the rural countryside on all sides of the city. As we drove around the area day after day, we passed this barn many, many times, and each time I'd think that I'd stop one day before we left and get a photograph. Almost before we knew it our time in Montana was coming to a close and I still hadn't stopped. When we passed it one last time, I mentioned to my husband, who is also a photographer, that I wanted to stop and take a few shots of the barn. He didn't see anything special in it and sat in the car while I got out and took a few images before moving on. Fortunately, the sky turned rather dramatic very quickly during the few minutes I was photographing the site, so that added some good background interest. Sure enough, when my husband looked at my images, he regretted sitting in the car and not taking a few pictures himself!
Simply put, I LOVE TO TAKE PICTURES. I found this love later in life than many do, after raising my family and enjoying a career in education, both as a teacher and school administrator. Currently, much of my time revolves around travel and photography, and when I'm not traveling and taking pictures, I'm thinking about traveling and taking pictures! The Tennessee valley is my home, so I am surrounded by some of the most scenic areas of the United States with the added bonus of plentiful wildlife and birds...literally paradise for a photographer!
