Artist's Description
Cades Cove is part of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park on the Tennessee side.
Settled as an Appalachian community in the late 1800's, there are still nine historic structures remaining that are maintained and managed by the National Park Service. The first fame house in Cades Cove is known as the Becky Cable Place and was built by John P. Cable, who also built the Cable Mill. A general store was operated in the building for many years. Becky Cable lived here until her death in 1940 at the age of 96 years.

Simply put, I LOVE TO TAKE PICTURES. I found this love later in life than many do, after raising my family and enjoying a career in education, both as a teacher and school administrator. Currently, much of my time revolves around travel and photography, and when I'm not traveling and taking pictures, I'm thinking about traveling and taking pictures! The Tennessee valley is my home, so I am surrounded by some of the most scenic areas of the United States with the added bonus of plentiful wildlife and birds...literally paradise for a photographer!
