Description
The Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge, also known as the Ravenel Bridge and the Cooper River Bridge, is a cable-stayed bridge over the Cooper River in South Carolina, connecting downtown Charleston to Mount Pleasant. The bridge has a main span of 1,546 and is the third longest among cable-stayed bridges in the Western Hemisphere. It was built using the design-build method and was designed by Parsons Brinckerhoff. The bridge is a beautiful landmark of the area and is fun to photograph any time of day or night. During my five days in Charleston, I was able to photograph the bridge from several different locations and at different times of day and night. It was a lot of fun to capture this shot as we drove across the bridge on a cloudy afternoon! I love the "up close and personal" view and the geometrical aspect of this perspective.
