Description
The Confederation Bridge is a nine mile long engineering marvel that connects Prince Edward Island with New Brunswick, on the mainland of Canada. Before the bridge opened in 1997, the island was only accessible by ferry. It spans the Abegweit Passage of the Northumberland Strait. It has the unique distinction of being the longest bridge over ice covered waters in the world.
