Artist's Description
George Johnson Baldwin (1856-1927), capitalist and civic leader, was born in Savannah, Georgia. An 1877 graduate of Massachusetts Institute of Technology, he began his career as a chemist, but quickly became associated with diverse industries and companies. During World War I, Baldwin lent his business expertise to the shipping and shipbuilding industries. Throughout his life, he was an active Savannah civic leader and philanthropist. His Savannah home, a lovely brick mansion with a towering turret, is part of the historic district and is located at 201 Liberty Street. Like many of the other historic homes, it speaks of southern charm and gentility of days gone by.
About Marcy Wielfaert

The Tennessee valley is my home, so I am surrounded by some of the most scenic areas of the United States with the added bonus of plentiful wildlife and birds...literally paradise for a photographer! My best days are spent in the mountains enjoying God's amazing creation and trying to capture all things nature with my camera. It gives me great joy to use this medium to share the intricacies of...
