Description
One afternoon while exploring the coast of Maine, my husband and I came to this tiny little harbor town. We really had to go out of the way to find it because it was in a rather remote location, jutting out on a small point on the coastline. Castine proved to be a wonderful discovery because even in heavy fog, it was quaint and charming and had much to offer. Many resort style bed and breakfast inns were located there, along with some tempting seafood restaurants. Moored very near one of the larger establishments, we couldn't help but notice this replica of the Santa Maria, one of the three ships in the historic voyage of Columbus. Although it may have been nice to see it on a bright, sunny day, I decided the
dense fog suited the look of the old ship just fine!
