Description
The Sinks is a popular stop for visitors to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. With it's rugged rocks and multiple pools and falls, just being close by can provide a cooling for hot, tired bodies on a hot summer day. It's also especially alluring for photographers and can be somewhat challenging to get just the right shot because of limited access. This area can be hazardous for falls and more than one drowning has occurred there, so there are warning signs posted. I loved this vantage point with the swift moving water in the foreground and a calm pool in the back. The smoothness of the water is nicely contrasted with the rugged, textured old boulders that make up the foundation of the photograph.
